'VEMPIRE' REVIEW FROM METAL HAMMER
For Suffolk's Cradle Of Filth, their musical vision extends way beyond a one-dimensional experience. Encompassing the darkness and playing speed of black metal, an underlying thread of classical orchestration and a predilection for gothic/erotic imagery, the Cradle promise an assault to the senses of every level.
Despite numerous line-up changes since debut album 'The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh' in 1994, their creative vision has remained intact. Embracing the vampiric legend evoked by Stoker, the poetry of Shelley and all atmospheres dark, English and chilling, the Cradle have perverted these elements into their own blend of hauntingly majestic orchestration. 'Vempire' is a celebration of taking their artistic vision one step further.
This extended six-track EP will no doubt delight the huge underground following the band have aquired in both the UK and Europe. For the rest of us, the concept and musical nightmare may remain a little daunting.
